The village of Piégros-la-Clastre
Our Bergerie is located in the rural village of Piégros-la-Clastre, which lies between Crest and Saillans. This typical village of the valley has a rural past as evidenced by the Bergerie and the agricultural crops that still surround it.
The village is full of treasures from the past such as its 11th century Romanesque church, its medieval castle overlooking the valley and its Saint Médard chapel where hikers meet at the top after a few hours of excursion.
Many hiking and mountain biking circuits can also be found at the start of the village, allowing you to discover marvelous natural landscapes while getting high above the mountains.
The Drôme river & aquatic activities
The Drôme Valley stretches along the course of the Drôme river, known for its pure, turquoise water and its wild corners. Many bathing spots, secret and less secret, can be found there by letting themselves be carried by the water.. The river is also known to be the ideal place for canoeing, kayaking, rafting or fishing.
The Drôme Valley has around some lakes (Champos, des Vernets), waterfalls and gorges (Omblèze, Ubrieux) or even nautical bases (Etoile Park, Monde de Merlin) for all other freshness needs.
Saoû forest
Known for being one of the most beautiful forests in Drôme, the Saoû Forest massif extends over 2,500 hectares and is the heart of an exceptional biodiversity. At the heart of a massif of limestone walls, the forest invites its visitors to gain height on the path of the ridges, to the highest point (1,589m) of the famous Trois Becs. A paradise for walkers, hikers or mountain bikers in search of wide open spaces.
Local & organic productions
The Drôme Valley is a farming and local destination. Renowned for its support to producers and its environmental consideration towards more sustainable production, you will find in the Valley plenty of producers who favor short production circuits. Foodies will be delighted with local products such as picodon, organic fruits and vegetables and wine production. The Valley is also known for its famous Clairette de Die, a sparkling wine with controlled origin label from the valley vineyards.
You will also find cultivations of aromatic and medicinal plants that characterize the spirit of the Drôme Valley, where well-being and nature are one.
For these reasons, the Drôme Valley is a natural and authentic destination that you will never be tired of.
